I think 6 months is reasonable. Weve all been there, first big love etc, think its the best love ever so you scream about it and think at night "I wonder what our babies will be like" but then 6 months down the line it fgets a little boring and whoah! You find someone else attractive, meanwhile your mobile goes off and its her "Man she is doing my head in"
