Anyone know when the stones are announcing there european tour dates
going on past tours, it'd be november/december anyway, and even then the list won't be exhaustive. If I recall, the london gigs were announced, had gone on sale and been sold out before the two shows in the Dublin were announced.

What should be interesting this time around is if MCD/Aiken decides to put them in the Point again; while the Point is a decent place (at least in terms of 'intimacy' and being able to see what's going on) the band is capable of doing the stadium thing which would presumably reach a lot more people who wanted to see 'em...

Nothing official to back it up yet Spactacus.

All the staff in Croker have been told as have the residents.

Stones new single "Rough Justice" is surprisingly good
I hate stadium gigs but might make an exception for this.

The residents have been told **** all about Rolling Stones playing in Croker. Where did you get your facts???

I get my facts from the letter I've seen that was CC'd to them informing them of the gigs

I reckon it's going to be put on sale this side of Xmas whatever happpens.

Heard this morning that Bon Jovi are going to be doing one of the night's as well.

Makes sense, Stones, Robbie and Bon Jovi all have new albums on the way, are all touring and would all sell out Croker.

I didn't think Bon Jovi would be a contender but I'm told the sell out everytime they play here.

(There was me thinking Bon Jovi only sold out when Jon appeared in Ally McBeal)

Only thing is that one gig for each act means that Croker have reached a limit in what they can do - as have the promoters. In other words, one gig sells out there's no way an extra date can be managed. AFAIK there can ONLY be three gigs in Croke Park in any given year.

Yeah that's spot on, three non sporting events a year.

I reckon Bon Jovi could get the flick to allow one of the others to do two nights, if I was a betting man I'd say Robbie would be the most likely to do two outdoors.

Obviously the Stones would draw a bigger crowd but they don't seem to do 2 nights back to back outdoor any more. Logistically they wouldn't be able to split Robbie either side of them

I'd love to see them, preferably with Bon Jovi. I hate Robbie Williams.

Metallica are supporting them in San Fransisco. That would be sweet.

Blisterman I meant three seperate gigs by each of the bands, not support slots for Robbie and Bon Jovi.

That's what I've heard is being lined up

I'd love a 3 in 1 ticket! The Stones, ok i'm not a massive fan, but i'd have to bring the father, and they are legends. I'd love to see Robbie, again not a massive fan but he is a great showman, and has some great songs. Bon Jovi are very good, new single good, greatest hits album class, not meant to be great live. Most of all I think I just want to run through that tunnel and out onto the pitch in Croker again!!!!

Indeed interesting. Here's some free advice for y'all!

when/if tickets for these gigs go on sale, and when/if you're buying (assuming you're interested), do NOT take a ticket for the upper tiers. echoey as bedamned....Pitch is probably the way to go, although I should point out, at least for the stones, that when they played twickenham, it was twice as expensive to be there...the pitch, I mean...

Another one as well is that for MCD's big gigs, Eminem, U2 etc try

    www.wonderlandpromotions.co.uk

    Their partners in the North

You'd want to be getting a rattle of Mick for that price.

I see in the States you can pay to sit on stage and watch the show from there

    fcuk da!

aye - pal o' mine said at the time "for that money, I want a hand job from the drummer"...

It's interesting the way that the prices go. As I said it cost more to be on the pitch in twickenham, yet if memory serves, the cheapest tickets for their gig in the Point were to be on the arena floor and most expensive to be seated.

In the states, where (it would seem) the punters have more money than sense, you can pay up to $450 to be on the stage - the way it works is that you are, I think, behind the band but part of the rigging...some reports say that for this money you get a free bar and to meet 'em afterwards...

Just heard the new album, sounds good, little bit safer than some of the other stuff but I suppose that's to be expected with age.

Some of the tunes sound great, have only had the chance to have one listen to it
