I love these guys, only heard Without a Sound and a handful of other songs but I know they kick ass....

Why the fúck am I under 18? Damn Ambassador! I love these guys.. how strict are they on ages? For ID would a photocopied(and perhaps photoshopped :p ) passport do?

yeh I'm the same, I really love Dinosaur Jr. but I'm under 18 :(

It's something I really want to go to but I don't think I'll be able to get in :(

    Heh.

I wanna go to this, but Sleater Kinney is on the same night. I've never heard SK, but they've never played here. And they're meant to rock.

    Dinosaur Jr., though...

In contrast, it's gonna probably be Dinosaur Jr's LAST ever show here.

Have my ticket. Saw them in Toronto in August and it was super fly. Lou Barlow back with them too so it's a must see.

Not long to go now ;-) What time do gigs in the Ambassador usually kick off, the ticket says 7.30pm?

Dublin band Boxes are playing support:

Can't wait to see them. Last time J played Whelans was amazing.

I'll be seeing them in London's Koko where they're playing "You're Living All Over Me" from start to finish, the first Dinosaur Jr. album I ever listened to and one of my all-time favourites.

At first I thought I'd have to go to the UK to see them. Then waay later a Dublin date was announced. But it's all good, get to see The Stooges as a consolation.

Yeah I was in the same boat - considering a trip to London, nearly crashed the car when I heard on the radio they were playing Dublin (I misheard the date thought it was the 3rd). It was the first time I bought tix off Ticketmaster, didn't even think twice, wasn't going to miss this one. Enjoy London, maybe we can swap reports afterwards!

Hey, would any of you mind just checking the back of your tickets and see if an under 18 year old could get in with an over 18 year old, because I really REALLY want to go but because of the age limit i can't :(:(

    Damn my poverty.

Broke the bank last week seeing the Pixies and Weezer. That means I missed Jurassic 5 and am going to miss Dinosaur Jr. too

I've seen J5 already but Dinosaur Jr!!!!!!

The first album I bought on cassette was Where You Been.

    Ah - the memories!

    Wish I was going

No. That doesn't work anymore. Recently the Ambassador has tightened its policy on underagers.

Word of advice: bring an ID with you, ideally a passport or Garda ID. It may not be you in the picture, but having some kind of an ID with you is far more likely to get you in than without one. Going IDless completely minimizes your chances.

Interestingly, once upon a time when I was 17 I just showed the bouncer my ID and, even though it said I was underage, I got in. Many kids were stuck outside. This is more likely to work if you have your ID in-hand coming up to the door. Expect it.

And finally do the obvious preening to make yourself less childlike. Wear the right clothes, stand up straight etc.

    Good luck.

Thanks alot for the advice freak scenery, but my chances of going are still very slim, I'm in kerry, so i'd have to get myself some accomadation for tomorrow and school starts tomorrow too, i'm fairly gutted that i can't go :(

London gig was amazing. You're Living All Over Me and four encores. Coming to DVD aswell in the future (not the whole concert I believe, I'd imagine a compilation of various shows, past and present).

Only gripe is the exclusion of their Peter Frampton cover of Show Me the Way. I hear J doesn't like the song these days but ffs it's on the album I paid to see. The Koko wasn't great either. It looks very nice but the security are overbearing and beer wasn't even on tap , only option were cans of Kronenburg.

Still, show was fantastic. Ears were ringing for ages.

i thought the venue was cool enough..like a mix between the olympia and the ambassador..
beer outta cans doesnt spill as easy as pints..
and it cant be watered down..
and it makes you feel like its a party or something.
    met j mascis.
    strangest dude ever.

It's not on YLAOM - it's on Fossils.

Perhaps SST reissued YLAOM and added in the song, 'cos it's on my CD.

    Apologies for casting aspersions ;-)

You are of course correct, the track was a bonus on the SST CD. Keeblin.com has the skinny

I have it on vinyl so please excuse my ignorance... Am currently debating whether or not to splash out for the reissues (all 3 available for a mere $33 as a bundle here ).

It's weird though, I always thought that Show Me the Way was part of the original album and only found out recently that that isn't the case (on the new reissue of YLAOM the song is replaced with Just Like Heaven).

    I hate bonus tracks.

At the gig a good amount of the crowd were calling out for it after Poledo, but Jay and Lou just shook their heads. Looks like they do indeed dislike the song now...
