Stayed in NH Calderon for new year 2003 - dunno how pricey it was, didn't pay for it! But it's got a pretty good location (on the Ramblas), and was good quality.

I think if you are going for that length of time you are better off renting an apartment. It works out way cheaper, and it also means you can have beer and food in your fridge.

Google "cheap apartments Barcelona" and you will find some sites.

Its great having a the luxury of a hotel, but at the same time its very nice having your own space in an apartment.

Just back from Barcelona, spent a week there and rented an apartment as it was so much cheaper.
I booked through www.lovingbarcelona.com - have to say the apartment was perfect, everything we needed. Only complaint was it still hadn't been cleaned when we got there at 1pm - wasn't ready until 4pm!
But apart from that it was fine.
