Can anyone tell me how much setanta sports costs on Sky Digital? Do you need to sign up for a year? Thanks

Is it possible to sign up to Setanta without subscribing to Sky? (i.e. I have a second hand digibox but don't want to hand over money to Murdoch for channels I don't want)

Possibly the worst customer service since NTL!

They really are a bunch of tossers. I'm just mad because I "had" to sign up with Setanta for Formula 1 coverage as I can't get UTV on Sky.

In my first weekend with Setanta they managed to accidentally cancel my account twice.

13 quid per month, 7 euro registration fee and a 12 month minimum contract. Very expensive for poor service.

    Sorry. Rant is now over!

Does TV3 not have F1 coverage now?

Nope, not live anyway. There is a FTA German channel on Astra 1 that shows F1 anyways, or at least it used to. RTL I think it is.

If you got Setanta merely for live F1 coverage then a cheaper avenue would have been a FTA UK viewing card.

FTA Card = around €80 and you get UTV,C4,C5 etc

    Shitanta Sports = €160

    You = crazy!

I want Setanta sports for soccer, football and hurling, seeing as I don't get RTE.

I've e-mailed them to see if I can join (naturally I posed as Joe Irish in the e-mail) without subscribing to Sky.

13 euros a month is cheaper than 30 euros a month for RTE when all I want is the matches.

you'll have to be Joe British as the GAA is blocked for Irish viewers of Setanta due to RTÉ holding the rights

The feckers, and they have it listed on their Irish TV schedule. Now I have to phone those estranged Scottish cousins of mine.

What about Irish international soccer matches, same story I presume, or do they not show them at all because they are on Sky? Setanta's package is looking ****er by the minute.

If only the Family Pack was a bit cheaper. 30 euros is highway robbery.

    Sky Sports

I could be wrong, but i am sure the situation last year was that you couldnt get setanta sports on sky unless you took sky sports too, and i think you need at least the family pack to be able to take sky sports?

Live intercounty championship games are only on RTE in Ireland. Setanta Ireland does show other games live, such as Dublin club championship games and it shows extended highlights of all weekend games during the week following the game.
