if you want to set up a wireless network you need a wireless router and then wireless cards for the PC and laptop. Alternatively if the PC is near the router you can connect it to the router using ethernet cable. What sort of broadband you getting?

I'd recommend this if u have IBB or cable broadband or this if u have asdl broadband.

Linksys make good wireless cards. Use a USB one for PC and a PC Card one for laptop.

www.elara.ie and microaid.ie are best for prices i find.

    Thanks

Getting BT broadband, was thinking of running a cable from the PC to the Router and using a PC card on the Laptop.

Gave the Argos one as an example as I stumbled across it in the catolouge and it was an offer on both the card and the router.

Maplin have a Linkys card and router on offer so I will call into them and see if it is what I am looking for

    Thanks

Will look into this, will be a few weeks before I have a need for it so just doing some research

Will I be able to access the PC from the Laptop with this, ie. Drag and drop files from one to another over the wireless network? Laptop is on Win 98 and the PC on XP

    Thanks for your help

I bought a wireless G router from ebay.ie a couple of weeks ago. It works fine for my NTL broadband setup. I got it for €15 for a new one.

Here is the sellers page (based in Tralee) - http://cgi.ebay.ie/Ireland-Motorola-802-11g-WiFi-Wireless-Router-WR850G_W0QQitemZ5800328129QQcategoryZ44997QQcmdZViewItem
