Is there any plans by ntl to introduce interactive services?

yeah I read in Silconerepublic.com that they'll roll it out with their answer to Sky+ at the end of 2005

    is it not already interactive?

what about the "unplugging / remove-insert card / fix scart / shout abuse at box" interactivity that's been there from the start ;) ?

    seriously tho
proper* interactivity requires a return route back to ntl
afaik the older boxes had built in cable modems, some of the silver ones had an rj11 phone socket but the new boxes don't have either

assuming that the return would be on the cable then the only areas this would work is anywhere you can get ntl broadband which would rule out a good section of customers

*sky sat dishes only receive - not send
sky 'interactive' such as selecting one of a number of games / news reports is not true interactive as all the games/reports are received by the box, all you are doing is selecting which stream to watch which is effectively just changing a channel
where they do have proper interactivity is the likes of the voting on sky news where the box "dials" your vote back to sky

They would cover about 1/3 of Dublin. All of Galway and all of Waterford. The Dublin number will increase. I would imagine they will do it like sky/sky plus and make it an additional service.
