ebid.ie was Ireland's attempt at emulating ebay. However i don't think it ever really took off, and whatever about ebay eating into Buy&Sell's market, ebid.ie must be royally screwed.

Has anyone here ever actually used it however?

Please keep unconstructive comments like this to yourself.
Also, swearing should be avoided, where possible.
If you would like to point out the shortcomings or possible drawbacks of that site, please do. But dogmatic naysaying isnt welcome.

i think the main problem is that compared to the us or uk any irish auction site won't stand much of a chance.

expecially since the cost of postage isn't that much, even from the US.

They once sent an email to users with every other registered user's email visible in CC, and these weren't Hotmail-type addresses, they were all legit 'ISP' addresses..

Morons. They dirtied a perfectly clean spam-free address on me.

That's the level of incompetence they displayed.

I saw the woman who set it up on the late late show (apologies!) a few years ago. The website was established for about 3 - 6 months.

With a very smug look on her face, she said ebid.ie is worth £20 million.

    Retard!
