I, myself, am looking forward to seeing both..

(..click film title for their trailers..)

Red Eye - a new thriller from Wes Craven who wanted to prove he could do more than horror. Starring Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy as two people who form a bond before and during a flight together. But things are not as they seem and.... yeah.. you probably know the rest!

The 40 Year Old Virgin - anything from Judd Apatow means comic gold! And his directorial feature film debut (directed plenty of episodes of 'Undeclared' and 'Freaks And Geeks', not to mention 'The Larry Sanders Show' on TV) stars Steve Carell as a well... a 40 Year Old Virgin shockingly enough!

Funnily enough.. both films were released this weekend in the States and are both getting very warm reviews from both critics and audiences:

    - IMDB has a 7.9 rating for 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' and 7.7 for 'Red Eye' (not a huge amount of votes yet though).
    - RottenTomatoes.com has critics reviews which give 108 reviews for 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' (96 good / 12 bad) and 120 reviews for 'Red Eye' (100 good / 20 bad).

I've a feeling 'Red Eye' will grab the No.1 on Sunday - having that ever more bankable PG-13 rating as compared to R rating on 'The 40 Year Old Virgin'.

    Honestly... not much.

'V for Vendetta' doesnt look to shabby and 'the 40 year old virgin' (as you've mentioned) looks good also.

Must actually check Autumn & Winter releases... plan ahead.

King Kong. Trailers looked snazzy enough for my liking.

    Serenity
    and
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: The Chronicles of Narnia.

Pretty much it. Have to wait for ages for these two though (and films that you wait ages for generally end up being sh*te anyway, it's so disappointing)

    Nothing really.

    I guess King Kong.

And even though I know it'll more then likely be disappointing, am dying to see Doom....

    On that note... Silent Hill

Domino keeps getting moved back.. possibly due to the real Domino Harvey's death. It's currently got a US Release Date of November 4th. Should be interesting to see the first Richard Kelly screenplay since Donnie Darko.. and in a Tony Scott film, no less!

'Serenity' and 'King Kong' are also definantly on my to-see list. And also Cameron Crowe's newest, Elizabethtown looks quite good (if a little pretentious.. but Cameron Crowe's typically do appear that way. Not to mention it seems a little too reminiscent of 'Garden State'). Also the trailer for Liev Shreiber's directorial debut, 'Everything Is Illuminated' is definantly something special! (watch the trailer by clicking on the film title!)
And even though I know it'll more then likely be disappointing, am dying to see Doom....
Just be grateful Uwe Boll's not directing it! :D

Maybe i was wrong about my presumption of 'Red Eye' taking the No. 1 spot on Sunday. Just saw this on ComingSoon.net:
In what might be the last relatively busy Friday night of the summer box office, two new movies dominated the business in theatres.

Steve Carell's first feature film as a leading man, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, came out slightly on top of the pack with $7.3 million; that should pan out to an opening weekend between $21 and 22 million. Wes Craven's Red Eye, starring Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams, also did decent business, but ended up making a million less in a few hundred more theatres. Its estimated $6.2 million opening day points to a weekend between $17 and 18 million. Both films have had mostly positive reviews and word-of-mouth should allow them to bring in plenty of business over the rest of the month.
Definantly want Apatow to hit that No.1 spot!

    Silent Hill
    Red Eye
    Land Of The Dead
    Corpse Bride

And I know it's kind of cheating, but Sin City 2

V for Vendetta may prove to be worth watching, but judging on script reviews and the trailer so far, looks like it'll feature too little of the story that made me love the original comic so much. Ah well...

Mainly, I am looking forward to

Land of the Dead - Romero's zombie flicks are always, without exception, excellent. We should be thankful he even got a chance to make another one.

The Brothers Grimm - Terry Gilliam's latest film - enough said.

The 40 Year-Old Virgin - Because Judd Apatow is the MAN and Seth Rogen is in it... gotta support the Freaks.

Saw the trailer for The 40 Year-old Virgin last night before Unleashed. Its out next week (it looks VERY funny!). Land of the Dead should be good. Also looking forward to Red Eye.

Towards the end of the year, we have The Goblet of Fire (the best Harry Potter book), and Chronicles of Narnia.

Not much at all. I guess Land of the Dead would be up there, and the 40-Year Old Virgin. About Doom.............I think I'm more curious than really looking forward to it.

    Looking forward to Transporter 2.

But reeeeallly looking forward to Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, should be great. Although, the fact that Disney is involved makes me a little bit wary.

Going to see a preview of 40 Year Old Virgin tonight. I think for the first time ever, I haven't seen any trailers for a film I'm going to see. Hope it's as funny as people have said.
