Folks, was wondering if anyone here knows of a Make/model of laptop that is similar is portability and battery life to the sexy out vaio t but not as expensive.

I'm in the States at the moment and can get a vaio t for $2200 but am looking for something along the same lines but maybe 500 cheaper if possible. Not too pushed on features as it is only going to be used for office work. Perhaps not even something quite as small but close enough.

    cheers

In terms of weight and small form factor look at the dell d400 series (1.7kg) and the latitude x1, underpowered imho but only 1.14kg!

If you don't mind something heavy but equally sexy then take a look at the portege a200 (2kg, 12") and rather cheap ;)
(looks like a distorted vision of an ibook)

Hard to beat the sony though, really hard! (Chinese import's around €450 less it seems)

    Good luck!

Im in the same market at the moment. Looking for a good ultra portable.

Seriously considering the X1. Since next to the sony's its one of the few with a Widescreen.

Another suggestion would be the IBM X41. If anyone knows a good (cheap) place to get IBM's please tell!

V-Tech do a wonderful range since "features" don't matter too much.
    They're very portable.
