WHAT!!!?? tell me you're joking! :D

thanks for the game lads, was fantastic, great structure and standard of play.

looking forward to the next one already.

what was the final standings (other than me out 9th :()

It was a good game. Too short for me though, after getting ahead early Big 'un won a JJ vs AQ race to send me to the cash game where I won €800 :D

Well done to Cian & Cormac for putting on a good show and supplying the beer. The standard was better than most Fitz tournaments and the fact that 40 runners started this earlier than the 60 or so in the main game and it still lasted longer!

Good to put faces to names. I will be there for the next one.

PS. Rory will fold top pair if you bluff at him with the Hammer. :D

BUT NOT WITH ANYTHING LESS !!!

I though it was a great tourney too. I played sh1t and deserved to go out when I did. Final standings

    1st Ken Cleary
    2nd nickyo'd
    3rd will
    4th john
    5th ?
    6th ?
    7th fitz dealer
    8th ?
    9th karl (sorry!)

could have been so different when john calleed nicky's all in with pocket tens against his AQ. Nicky hit the ace and doubled up. Had he lost that john would have had a 5:1 chip lead over the other too..... but thats poker :D

Excellent tournament. Well done Cian and Cormac. I made the mistake of being a bit tipsy before it even started but it was fun.

Thanks to everyone for coming along, we were delighted with the turnout! Apologies that beer couldnt be had upstairs, but there was nothing we could do! The Fitz were absolutely brilliant in accomodating the game, Ken, Luke and everyone else couldnt have been nicer and more hospitable. We will be holding another one sometime in the near future, will post up details when possible. It was great to put faces to the names. Regretfully I didnt get to talk to many of you, as I was rushing around for half the game (thats why I didnt take 1st by the way! ). Ended up pushing with A5 and walking into cowboys, after my stack took a dent when Q10 doubled up against my AK. Next time gadget, next time. Thanks again lads!

Yeah guys I'd just like to add my voice to those congratulating Poker.ie for a great. The sandwiches and beer were a great touch and it was fantastic to see so many people playing who weren't Fitz regulars.

Wilis were you the guy who called my all-in raise when we were at 3 tables? Details below:

"A key hand that nearly broke me early on was when we were down to 3 tables of nine. I'm chip leader on the table by a few thousand with nearly 14k, 2nd chip leader has about 10k. I'm on the button with A Ks. 2nd chip leader makes it 2k from early position (a hefty raise at the time), folded round to me and I go all-in over the top. 2nd Chip leader takes a long time to think, then calls and turns over 10 10. Board brings no help and im busted down. Good call?"

Good call as it turned out but I think i'd have folded the hand and I was counting on you to do the same :) I figured you had Jacks or below and wouldn't want to risk busting out of the tournament with that hand - especially since even after folding you'd have still been 2nd Chip Leader. Anyone else got any opinions?

yeah was me ken. The reason i called was because i felt you were trying to put me off a hand and you had been aggressive all night. Also after taking my time to think i reckoned there was no way you had AA KK or QQ, i was worried about JJ. I felt at worst i was 50 50, and i knew there was a small chance you could hav 88-99. You knew i didnt want to gamble off my stack and made a stong move, however i felt that i was ahead and blinds were steep enough and were coming round to me in 2 hands. I hoped to see an underpair but i knew at worst i was 50 50, to be honest it was very close between calling and folding.
Well played on your victory...although you were lucky with your 44vs qq on the bubble!!
