Friday the 19th of August and my life is complete...

I met Daniel O'Donnell in the Blanchardstown Centre!

Anyone else meet anyone famous today?

No, but I was in the same queue as Seamus Heany once. He looked and me and said hello.

I'd be ecstatic if I met Daniel O'Donnell though. Congratulations.

if i met daniel o donnell my first order on the agenda would be to punch him square in the face, and then bodyslam him into a cactus

Myself and a friend considered giving him the finger, but by the time we had actually decided to he had gone. Disappeared into the cloud of smoke from which he came. We did get a great 10 minutes or so of laughter from it!

I love Daniel. I would have asked him around to my house for a cup of tea with my maaaammy.

no, giving the finger won't do, sorry son.unless he's flat out on the floor or unconscious in a trash can, you failed.

to creep back on topic, i met gerry adams at a very snooty resteraunt right inside of boston harbour.he was having lunch with my uncle, who was captaining the irish tall-boats representitive ship which had sailed into the harbour that day.

Im sensing hatred for Mr. O'Donnell, leave the man-wonder alone

In other news, i saw an almost celebrity today

honestly there's not many celebrities in ireland.

while i used gerry adams in my example, i wouldn't consider him a celebrity.he is merely well-known social and political figurehead.

the term celebrity is used way too loosely nowadays.

    people i wouldn't consider celebrities:

    anyone from big brother
anyone from and "reality" tv show
anyone from coronation street/eastenders/home & away etc
anyone from the frames, boyzone or any pop idol
    anyone from american idol
    christy moore
    the wolftones
any other assorted lesser-known irish musical acts
    roy keane
    most premiership soccer players

    people i would consider celebrities:

    paris hilton
    snoop dogg
    brad pitt
anyone who has one an oscar, or an MTV award(video or music)
    johnny depp
    hale berry
    cameron diaz
    justin timberlake
    jack nicholson
    demi moore
    eva mendez
    david beckham
    pelé
    p. diddy
    britney spears

    the list goes on

    get it straight, people.

Daniel O'Donnell is one of the few things that can make people ashamed to be Irish. You'd think with all that money he has that he'd go and get some singing lessons. People point to his work for orphans in Romania. Well after all the pain and suffering he has caused here to anyone that has had the misfortune to hear him, he should do something to make up for it.

Any time he "sings" there is a large applause when he finishes as people are delighted that he has. The only reason he sells so many records is that people keep buying them in the vain hope that they might actually find one that he can sing on. As for those poor orphans, imagine all the problems they have and then to top it all off they get a visit from Daniel! God help them.

Jerry Fish blew cigarette smoke all over me yesterday. He also sat near a friend of mine on the train. I'm always spotting him around town. He's a bit of a knob i'd say.

Saw George Murphy today, won't say where or when but he was pissed and a friend saw him do something interesting off the bonnet of a car in a car park. Sniff...

    ATT

    However, is he a "celebrity"?

Yeh, I served ould Danial in a shop I used to work once, my biggest regret is that I actually bothered to say it to the guy next to me... why do I care? The woman were falling over themselves though :D

For the sake of this thread alone, a celebrity is someone you think the majority of boards will know.

Excluding members of boards, that is.
