Poker.ie game in the Fitz tonight. I'm getting nothing all night and i find myself shortstacked with 3k. Blinds are 200/400. Look down at AQo. Know that i've got to push soon. I'm in CO. Guy before me has been stealing the blinds to survive. He raises to 1k. For some reason i know i'm ahead. I put him on a weakish ace. I reraise all-in. Then the guy on the button reraises all-in which is 3200 in total. The original raiser thinks and calls. Well i was right: he did have a weakish ace (AT). Only problem is the guy on the button turns over Cowboys. Nice one!! And out i go, after he hits a king on the flop and the river makes him a house.
Was it the right time to push? BB had a big stack and SB less than me. Three players involved had roughly about the same.
I just know i'm leaving out a big nugget of information here. We were down to three tables btw.

who won? I left when there was 4 and heard john got 4rd and will got 3rd. It was heads up between Nicky and another guy.

I went out fairly early after some terrible play. Went downstairs and decided to try my hand at a cash game and made 350 so I cant complain.

I'd defo play that tourney again though

    Hi again,
Thanks allot for coming to the tournament, glad you enjoyed it:)

Nicky O'D and Ken Cleary were heads up in the end, they played for a little bit and were pretty much even at one stage, there was €1075 between 1st and 2nd so they took €500 each and played for the €75. Ken was slightly ahead at one stage when the final hand took place.

    Flop: 9, 10, 2

10 K raise from Ken, call from Nicky

    Turn: 2

further 10K from Ken, Nicky ponders for a while and goes all in, Ken calls immediately.

    Nicky shows 10 X, 2 pair 10's and 2's
    Ken shows 10 9, 2 pair 10's and 9's

    River: Rag

Ken wins! Well done Ken and well done Nicky.

I don't remember the betting that took place exactly, I think it's pretty close to the above though.

The night went well anyway, thanks everyone:)

Ken played a prefect game at the final table. Fair play and well done. He deserved the win for sure. I showed a bit of inexperience in the HU matchup and broke a rule I promised I would never break again after my blowup in the city west. ALWAYS trust my inital read. I even said outloud he was trapping me on the turn, but then he looked at his cards again and I changed my read. Doh!!

Was a fantastic tournament for a €50. Really really enjoyed myself. Atmosphere was great. Beer, sandwiches and poker. We lived like Kings! :o

I dont think you did anything wrong. If the initial raiser has been as aggressive as you say he is, then your AQ is a favourite against his range of hands. You have only 8BBs left and need a double-up soon, so this is a good spot. I dont like calling as an option here, all-in is the way to go.

You're unlucky to get called behind you. With the action that's taken place, only a monster hand can call you (AA, KK, QQ, and probably AK), which will happen about 5% of the time with 3 players left to act. So I think you played it well, you were just unlucky in the end.

Edit: I'm not convinced of the call by AT at the end. The player is getting short, so I can understand the call, but I think his money is going in in a -EV spot.

PS: To the Poker.ie guys, I couldn't make it in the end, but congrats on a good night!
