Hey, can you knowledgeable guys comment these components and any possible conflicts that may occur? It's mainly for gaming and I'm trying to ensure a long life for the PC

Cooler Master Cavalier 3 Black (Without PSU)
    Corsair Value S. PC4200 DDR2 2048MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 1024MB
Creative SB Live! 24-bit Bulk PCI Soundcard, EAX, 7.1, 24-bit/96KHz
    Fortron/Source Powersupply ATX 400W 120mm Fan, SATA, 24pin
    Gainward GeForce 7800GTX 256MB 2xDVI PCI-Express,"U/3500PCX XP" ViVo
    Gigabyte GA-8N SLI Pro,nVidia,Socket-775 ,ATX, SATAII, GbLAN, DDR2, 2XPCI-Ex16
    Intel Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz Socket LGA775, 2MB, EM64T, BOXED w/fan
Philips DVD recorder IDE Black OEM
    Samsung SpinPoint P120S 200GB SATA2 8MB 7200RPM NCQ

It's from komplett and runs e1496. These are all the components required right? Is it just a matter of putting them all in and installing an OS?
Would really appreciate any input. Thanks

The motherboard's supported speeds? all i can find on it is that it supports DDR2.

Also does the network adapter allow direct linking with a broadband router and a 10/100Mbps network card?

If its mainly for gaming you should go for a AMD processor.

Yes i agree. I would switch to a AMD A64 system or a cheap X2 like 3800+. But AMD is the way to Go. Get a Nice 3700+ San Diego Core.

http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=309484&cks=PRL Something like this with a Nice Neo4 Board. 7800GTX Will go nice with that. As for RAM i wouldn't go anything above Pc4000 Due to latencie's. And it is DDR Ram you will need, not DDR2. I Strongly Recomend Any OCZ Performance RAM from Shop4memory.

Want any more info on perticular product's which i recomend, just ask and i will help you there.

Thanks for the recommendations but i'd rather stick with a P4 over an AMD.

This will probably make me sound idiotic, but how is an AMD 2.2Ghz better then a P4 3.4 GHz. Is it overclocking potential? ( I try to steer clear of that whole area)

What do you mean by RAM latencies? is DDR2 not better then DDR? ?

Best not to go into the descussion on P4 Vrs AMD check the web, I would go with AMD myself but its up to you.

As for the Ram DDR2 is not supported by AMD chips yet, If your going with the P4 get the DDR2 ram just make sure the MB is compatabile, Ram Latencies Explained

    Corsair Value S. PC4200 DDR2 2048MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 1024MB

That would be my main problem Cosair ram

Have had so much problems with it I wouldn't take it of you for free :p.

    thanks for that link joe.
Would this ram be a better choice?

Seems like that corsair value stuff is pretty low-end
Just to clear this up, a 4-4-4-11 latency is good right?
