Nothing dramatic here, but some of you may remember my last thread here.

Well I have my one-one on Monday regarding July's performance, something all employees have each month.

I'm just after checking my work email (I’m at home now), and she's sent me details on my performance, this is usually sent after the meeting, in the area where she has to mark for ''attendance/lates'', she's marked ''to be reviewed with me first'',

My thoughts you say? Well, the words ''FOR FúCK SAKE'' come to mind!

For the people who have read my other thread you can see I’ve already had meeting upon meeting with her about my lates, and I’m sick to death of repeating myself, which I’m going to have to do on Monday!!

To give you an idea of what she's like, let me give you some examples. I'm sure many of you have had one-ones before, I don't know what you go through but any 1-1 with any other supervisors have been no more than 10-15minutes yeah? Well, 2 girls had their one-ones with her yesterday and were both in there for over an hour!!!! Because it all ended up in an argument!

My main thing is, she wants me to do and ‘’ Performance Improvement Plan- PIP’’ Now, I don’t work for NASA and a monkey can pretty much do what I do, and this isn’t the first time I’ve done one of these PIPS, all I do is bull**** my way through them because that’s what they are, bull****.

I just want to make it clear, I have purposely been in work early EVERYDAY this month and I have the highest productivity in my team at the moment! She knows this and she still wants me to do this PIP, what I want to know is, am I within my rights to tell her to fúck off! As in, can i just say no without having any reprocussions?

I just want her to leave me alone so I can do my own work, she keeps saying that work should not be stressful, and tbh I have never EVER felt stressed about any other job, including this one, until SHE came along.

Anyone know of any jobs going?

I don't think its unreasonable for them to request stuff like that

We've got similar stuff to do here, on an ongoing basis.

The sooner you see it as part of your job, and not something that stops you doing your job the easier it will be for you

i don't mind doing it once, possibly even twice, but to make it ongoing when there is no problem anymore seems a tad rediculous and tedious to me. As i said, a monkey can do what i do, when i have to write out a 'plan', there's not a whole lot more to say other than ''For this month i will work harder'', after that you have to just make it up as you go along to fill the rest of the page tbh.

How exactly do you plan to work harder? How are you going to use your time more efficiently? Are there changes to your routine that could help? Are there areas where your efficiency is compromised by factors outside of your control? (excessive beauracracy for example)

It is more complicated that just saying "I'll work harder".

Also, it doesn't take 20 minutes to do, and tbh, you're coming across as lazy here mate. Do a little work on it, get your points together and it'll go well and fast. Everyone's happy and your day passes a bit faster.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with an employer expecting you to do your best or to attempt improving your performance and managing yourself in this regard. They are paying you to be there, it is not unreasonable for them to expect you to be an adult and take on the responsibility of working and doing well.

There is no excuse, in my eyes, for just coasting through the 40 hours a week and picking your check up at the end of the week. If you want to do that, go work in MacDonalds. A good work ethic is not in my opinion something that should be absent in an employee.

I do sympathise that your new supervisor doesn't seem to be a good one. That isn't an excuse for not doing your job well though. Plus look at it this way, if you go in well prepared and are working efficiently theres **** all she can do or say to you. And if she does give you hassle, your work ethic and performance will protect you.

Believe it or not, it does come down to working harder(in my particular situation), i did go into detail in my previous plans because that was what i had to do, but i didn't follow them, i can't even remember what i wrote, at the end of the day i just pulled the finger out tbh. It just happens to be a tedious job where it's very easy to do very little.

This is my point though, there isn't any problems any more, my performance is perfect, as far as i was concerned(until i read the email) any lates/performance issues were in the past, bringing them all up again isn't going to do any good at all.

Trust me, monday will end up in an argument, i will be in that meeting for over an hour because she will just go on and on, she always has something to say and her opinion is always the right one as far as she's concerned. The reason i've been in early all month is so to make up for my lates, this wont really matter though, i have a feeling it'll go in one ear and out the other.

I can appreciate the tedious aspect. Jobs like that are rarely challenging, once you learn to do it once etc.

I'd approach it this way then:

"Here is what I did to improve my performance. Note how I solved the problem with punctuality and how that situation has been dealt with. I plan on continuing as such and hope to maintain and improve my performance".

If she brings back up punctuality after this, just point out to her that you've dealt with it and that you are aware of the problem and are keeping an eye on it.

Possibly. My advice, and it might not help, would be to remain calm and rational. It's hard for a peron to argue with you if you don't lose your cool (not impossible, but much harder).

Don't be tempted to take any bait she offers that might start an argument. If she's not listening, just repeat yourself using different language.

    Hopefully that will work.

i sure as hell hope so! :)

Yeah, that why i came in early this month, incase she brought up lates, which i knew she would at some point, then i could just say that i've probably made it up by now... in fact i'm due some overtime!:D

It's just she's soo picky about things and starts arguments about nothing!! One time one of the guys left a paper cup with the word ''tips'' on it where we sit, and she went crazy over it,,, it was obviously a joke ffs! Everyone agrees that she makes mountains out of molehills!

I just wish i hadn't of checked my work mail, at least then i wouldn't have to worry about this crap.
