Growing hair back after shaving

    Hey all,
I've been shaving my head for a few years now and have decided to let it grow back a bit.

However I seem to remember reading something that said that if your hair was shaved right down it'll be in really crap condition when it grows out again (split ends etc).

    Any info/advice?

    Cheers

I was in the same boat as yourself last year, had kept my head shaved for about three years and suddenly decided I wanted to grow my hair.

I had no problems with the condition of it TBH, the only awkward thing I found is where its in those "in between" stages, its not exactly shaved and its not exactly got a lot of hair ?

Looks like a rug on your head. :)

Not in my experience. I had a shaved head for ages, still do occasionally when the mood takes me. Never had any problems like that. Hair is dead from the root up anyway so how shaving would affect it that way i'm not really sure.

The only thing is that when it grows out it will be all the same length (afro stylee), you need to let it grow to a length you're happy with then get it cut properly.

Go for it but make sure to get a trim every now and then.

I'm entering the soft fluffy stage as we speak...

It's gonna be weird having to actually think about hair cuts/style/gel etc. again!

I impulsively shaved my head five weeks ago. I'm now at that awful puff ball stage where it looks like I'm wearing a ragged rug on my head. I'm really torn between popping up to the barber and getting it shaved again or accepting the pain for another few weeks and growing it out.

Any advice on growing out? It's obviously too warm for hats! Should I get the back and sides shaved while I wait for the top to catch up? Any products that work well on sub centimetre length hairs?

No just let it grow.Maybe sound the hair down over you ears so it doesn't stick out as much.I hate it when it gets like that.
