    So do you think you will be sitting on the DART after the upgrade?
    Will you use the DART more often?
    Or will you still drive to work?

    Fact is its going to be as packed as ever can't win. On day zero in in 1984 a 4 coach Dart had 352 seats, here in 2005 a 8 coach Mitsui or Alstom one has 320 seats

    Off peak it makes no difference

    I tend to get the 7.18 DART from Portmarnock to Connolly. Seats in Portmarnock, but pretty full at Raheny (around 7.30). Used to get 8.12. Not a chance of a seat (maybe in the Summer). Evenings-fuggedaboutit.

    I reckon that 2 extra carriages will make little difference. As long as I can stand with breathing space and don't have to worry about my girlfriend passing out (as she tends to do when it's packed), then I'm relatively happy.

    Seats for all was never the objective. As Marko pointed out the new units are maximised for standing with a small amount of seats only.
