Can anyone recomend software that can split (and re-join) DVD/video files?

edit/ I want to split up a DVD made on holiday this Summer for emailing in smaller chunks, and the person at the other end needs to be able to put it all together again.

    Thanks.

What about using WinRAR to compress the video into lots of X sized .rar's and emailing them to the other person?

Does that involve splitting up the DVD? How will the other people put it all back together again?

I was hoping to split an hour long movie into about 5 smaller sections, compress them (with WinRAR or WinZIP etc), and email the small sections. The other people would then extract the compressed files, and put together again.

Well, if you have the .vob files, you compress them using WinRar, using the option to create multiple files if the file size is greater than 10mbs for instance. It'd create lots of these (50 for 500megs). You email all the files to your friend who uses WinRar to decompress the first of the rar files you sent. WinRar will automatically put the .vobs back together.

Try converting to mpeg2 and using vdub!

And not wanting to be smart but why not just post it! Sometimes its as quick - Although AnPost might prove me wrong :(
