Upgrading my laptop???

    I bought a new laptop last week, it's an advent cost just over a grand. Im looking to upgrade it especially the graphics card but it's an integrated 64mb card and i was told u cant upgrade an integrated card? Im by no means an expert but im not completely stupid when it comes to computers but im not sure how to go about this and even if i can go about this??? Any help or suggestions would be welcomed thanx the make is an advent 7077 by the way.

    Updating the gfx is a usually a no no except for the lucky few. With integrated gfx its usually bad news im afraid. Whats the exact spec? Upgrading the RAM and the HDD is not a prob and you can get some class PCMCIA cards.

    80 gig hard drive and 512 ram. PCMCIA dont get what that means?

    look at the side of the laptop. you should see a small rectangular hole covered with a flap. you can prob push in the flap with your finger. there is also a small button beside it.

    this a PCMCIA slot. you can but PCMCIA cards which fit in this slot, much the same way you can buy pci cards for a desktop machine.



    as far as upgrading graphics goes, what Nukem said pretty much covers it. only a few dells machines and maybe some others allow this, but most don't as they are usually built into the mother board.

    What exactly is a pcmcia card? What does it do for the computer??? Do they cost much??? I feel so stupid!!! cheers :D

    that won't help with your graphics card problems. there is really no way to fix that.
