My friend showed me how to read guitar tabs, so i gave them a shot, decided to learn guitar. I don't know notes or anything like that. But any advice on starting out?

Quick! Get an axe! It's a trick!

    :D

Honestly though, start with a good teacher, nobody can really advise you as well as proper one on one lessons. Other than that, get a good begginers guitar and a Microcube.

Get your friend to show you a few more things on his guitar. You don't want to spend €200+ and find out that you don't like playing. Get tabs for bands and songs you like (but avoid Dream Theater for the time being ;)) and try and play those. When you know you want to continue playing, get a budget sorted in your head, decide whether you want acoustic or electric, make a list of everything you have to buy from the budget (guitar, strap, amp, cable, picks, etc) then go and play everything within your budget.

Just don't play Smells Like Teen Spirit and Enter Sandman in the shops :p

I'm the exact same as you mp3guy. A few friends were talking about learning stuff on their guitars so I decided to try learn some chords. My bro has an acoustic he doesn't use anymore but I haven't put "pen to paper yet".

tbh, just learn some chords for now, they take quite a while to get used to so better sooner rather than later!

The first song that myself and a few other people I know learned was "About a Girl" from the Nirvana unplugged. Funny coincidence.

This sounds obvious, but learn the sort of songs you really like, starting with the easy ones. You have to play, play, play to learn. Hours every day. But don't worry, you'll love it. Forget about TV for the rest of your life. You'll never look back. Best of luck.
