Why cant I recieve "joined-up" texts?

For some reason when I sometimes recieve a text I only get the first half and it doesnt update. Is there something needs changing in my settings?

Is your phone a modern Nokia (newer than 3210)? Does the other bit come in eventually?

Have you checked later on in the day?
Sometimes it takes ages for the 2nd part to come so you don't notice it's there. Happened to me a few times.
Otherwise I don't know

If you delete the first half of the message after you get it then the second half will never come.
