    Hey,

Basically, Im inbetween a rock and a hard place trying to open a particular .wps file. The computer im using runs windows 2000 professional and is also using microsoft Office 2000. I have downloaded pretty much all the relevant converters I can to allow Word to open this file.

Yet, i am still stuck with total jibberish, my main problem is that Works of any description is not available to me due to work network restrictions.

It is possible that the .wps file was made on an absolutely ancient version of Works but i doubt it.

If anyone has any ideas please post them, ive tried converters dating back to Works 3.0 with no luck.

Thanks in advance, any advice much appreciated.

I would love to mate, but unfortunately that would drop me in a whole world of sh*t due to the nature of the document :(

Im afraid i cant send it to anyone its work related and sensitive in nature AFAIK.

    Thanks for offer though.

"In order to use this converter, you need one or more of the following versions of Microsoft Works:

    Microsoft Works Suite 2000
    Microsoft Works 2000
Microsoft Works for Windows 95, version 4.0 4.0
Microsoft Works for Windows 95, version 4.0 4.5
Microsoft Works for Windows 95, version 4.0 4.5a
    Microsoft Works Suite 99"

Sorry, dont have access to Works to edit file type :(
Plus ive tried all those converters already afaik.

    Cheers anyways.

Word 2000 SR1 will open them? go to File >open
change the "OF type" drop down box to "Works V4.00 .wps" and you should be able open them :)

Sorry odie i tried that already :(

Although, the exact wording in word SR1 is Works4.0 for windows not the one you mentioned, this could be the same thing but its worth a mention.

Thanks and keep the ideas coming please :)
