Best Balls For Tarmac Surface?

I recently got back into Tennis having given it up as a youngster. I havent joined any clubs yet as I'm still seeing whether I genuinely have an inclination to get back into tennis seriously and don't want to waste money on joining a club. Therefore I'm playing on the tarmac surface of the free to play courts in my nearby estate.

My friend who I play against though isn't happy with the quality of my tennis balls which my father bought a load of a year or two ago. They are Penn Tournament balls and the majority of which are still sealed in their tubes. I find that they are fine for the first game or two of the match, but then their bounce drastically decreases from there on in.

Could anyone recommend a good versatile brand of balls for me to try that I don't have to throw out after a few games?

I have a few Tretorn balls around and I find them to be fine, but my friend is the picky kind of player who likes to blame everything on everyone and thing but himself. If he mi****s a shot he'll start picking at his racquet and blame the tension. If I disguise my spin he'll blame the ball and the surface for giving him an awkward bounce and so on. I just play away and want a game with as little as these conflicts as possible.

    Any suggestions would be welcome!

Back when I used to be a member of a club with tarmac courts, the Tretorn Micro X balls where by far the longest lasting. I think that is still the case nowadays as well, it's just that on artificial grass, they tend to bounce too high, so most people don't seem to like them very much.

Get a different partner. Seriously he sounds like a complete prick about the game. Your just better than him and if he cant handle that then tell him to shut the hell up. Ive played against people like that and they just bring you down - theres no enjoyment.

I started off playing for a tarmac based club, and I found that Tretorn last the longest. The Micro's are ok for a few matches, but if you can find the older Tretorn Pluses you would be best off.

Although the Penn Tournaments go bald fast enough, they are heavy enough to at least have a semi-decent game when they start to go bad. Wilson 4's are OK too, but again go bald perhaps a bit too fast.

Tarmac is always gonnae shred your ball though. Depending on how much you play you may end up spending a fortune on the damn things.

Tarmac is a pain on the entire body - I'm glad I switched clubs to an omni surface, its a far better game :)
