    Hi all,

I'm getting might pissed off with XP- everytime I load a disk folder the bloody layout of the files within it always comes up showing them as TILES in ALPHABETICAL ORDER

When i change it to my preferred DETAILS view in LAST MODIFIED order, i'm happy. But if I exit the folder and go back in again, its back to the TILES and ALPHABETICAL order again..

Is there any way to always make folders display files in my preffered layout?

    Cheers

    Steve

Yes there is. Adjust your folder layout to how you wish, click tools -> folder options. Go to the view tab. Click on the "Like current folder" button. Should now remember your settings.

I feel your pain brother. That annoys the absolute poo out of me.

    Here's how you fix it:

Do what tzetze said, but untick "remember each folders view settings" first. When you first load explorer, you'll have to go to view->details (who the hell wants those ugly blocky folders??), but thereafter it'll be just dandy. :)

    HTH.

You'll also need to close explorer and reopen for changes to happen.
