O.K im getting a Gateway Solo Laptop delivered in a few days
off an Ebay member up north.

    She doesnt know the model number but the specs are as follows;

    PII 360mhz
    CD-ROM Drive
    4.5gb HDD
    128mb RAM
XP PRO Installed with OFFICE 2003 also
    AC Adapater
    Battery that lasts for 30-45mins
    PC Modem Card (PCMCIA)

I was wondering whether it is possible to add wireless capabilities to this
laptop with a wireless PCMCIA Type II card. To my NETOPIA router
NETWORK which includes 1 other laptop and 1 PC.

I have got this including postage for 65£STERLING.
Have i been ripped off or is this about it' money?

IE. Is this laptop good enough to browse the internet and run some basic
programmes like CORE FTP and basic Site Builders like Dreamweaver?

(or should i pull out of the sale and go into hiding!!)

    Cheers ;)

Shouldn't be a problem after you pop out the PC Modem Card (PCMCIA), than just pop in the wifi card into the pcmcia slot.

thats about it price for it but i would wonder as to the legitimacy of the xp pro and office 2003? a laptop of that spec would have shipped with win98 and maybe works or office 97
