I find the .com site has way more items up, and they nearly always work out cheapest, even after shipping is tacked on. Even if the .com seller doesnt specifically state that they ship worldwide, a quick email/pm asking will they ship to ireland usually elicts a nice positive response. In my opinion, they simply dont want the hassle of selling to people who dont use english as a first language, as this can cause them problems if theres a misunderstanding.

Also, I find that the .com sellers have more items sold, and therefore a higher feedback score. Id much prefer to buy off someone who sold 1000 units, with 985 positive responses than buy off someone with 5 units sold and 5 positive responses.

    I use co.uk because

    1. I often ask if they will send it to ireland before bidding , they say yes as often as not even though an item is apparently UK delivery only.
    2. I can get it sent to the uk if they won't .
    3. Choice Choice Choice
    4. I rarely use .com because customs can be assholes and the yanks dont 'understand' the green customs declaration thingy :)

    Almost always .com.

I always ask about Worldwide shipping - even if it doesn't mention it in the auction.

'in the UK for postal purposes' is a nice euphemism I feel :)

    This is spot on.
Most sellers will not have any problem shipping to ireland, even if they specifically dont state it in their item description.
I talked with a friend who sells lots of stuff from the USA about this.
He told me that its because Irish people speak good english and theres rarely communications breakdowns.
However, when selling to some other countries the buyers often use poor or broken english. Apparently, ebay sellers dont want the extra hassle.
