Seen this email the other day.

    Hi all,

We're currently looking for members of eBay.ie who have interesting stories to tell us about their trading on eBay. We'd love it if you could share some of your experiences with us!

For instance, it would be great to know what got you started on eBay - perhaps you are a collector, maybe you lost something and wanted to find a replacement, maybe you wanted to buy something that's hard to find or more expensive here in Ireland?

Some of you may have turned your eBay trading into a business and we'd love to hear about how you did that - was it a new business or an additional channel for an existing business? What are you selling, who do you sell to, how is it going?

As well as buying and selling you may have got other things from trading on eBay, such as making new friends or it allowed you to change your lifestyle in some way e.g. work from home.

If you have an eBay story that you think we’d find particularly interesting please send it to us at ebaystory@ebay.com!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Bye for now,

    Siobhan

I wonder if they'd be interested in the story of the watch I bought on eBay from Russia that worked in the less conventional counter-clockwise direction.

Ebay are always looking for these 'human interest' stories.
About 40 years ago, a kid was on holidays on a beach, playing with his favorite toy boat. He left it behind, and It got washed out to sea. A fishing trawler picked it up in their nets, and left it in a warehouse. 30-ish years later, someone found it and added it to their ebay store.
The kid who lost it, (now a man) is browsing ebay and finds his old toy.

True story, and they made an advertising campaign based on this. It was a huge money spinner for them in the states. It was shown during the superbowl, If I recall correctly.
