It may be worth importing if you can get a PSP with version 1.50 firmware on it...that will run homebrew!

Most likely the ones shipping here on 1st Sept. will have vesrion 2.0 firmware which will NOT run any homebrew :-(

Unless you've prebooked, it's doubtful you'll get a PSP any time in September. Also, you won't be able to run games from the memory stick with a European PSP, as these come with version 2.0 firmware as standard.

REALLY? i didnt know that !
damn, i would have thought theyd be 1.5
    i havent prebooked yet.

wouldnt they hack up 2.0 firmware or have sony completley covered up any holes possible.

Havent tried xlink myself yet, theres a list of supported games on the teamxlink site, as far as i know japanese games arent compatabile with US games when playing against each other, so if you have a US game then its probably only busy at evening time in the US. Some games have infrastructure mode meaning you just turn on wifi and you can play online, the next fifa is gonna support this i think but pro evo wont. If you have the money now, look for a 1.50 online ASAP! , keep an eye on videogamesplus.ca as they seem to have them every so often or ebay. Or if you know anyone in London, theres a market on Tottenham court road on a saturday where you can get 1.50 psp's (well thats where a friend of mine got one last week)

is there much point going through the hassel.
ive been meaning to buy this but aib have some sort of personal vendetta against me and never send me my credit card, my friends in usa and it probably back today so i didnt even tell him since i never realised only 1.50 was hacked. so im just gonna go with 2.00, im sure 2.00 will get hacked soon enough ? or there must be a way to roll back to the old firmware?

1.51/1.52 can supposedly be downgraded to 1.50 according to posts in various forums. Yoshi is at it again! and he doesnt even have a psp he sold it. Not 100% confirmed but could be good news for ppl plannig to buy a psp on the 1st as there gonna be 1.52 according to reports.

    no sept 1 psps = 2.00

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,719 ✭✭✭kaisersose77

nope 1.52 with 2.00 on the sampler umd

the euro psps would of being in production before 2.00 was out for even japan, so easier to just put the 2.00 update on the sampler disc

"This is real Yoshi just wants the word out so that the europeans dont update.

    No files available yet.

It will bereleased about the same time as the EU launch.

He has two method but he needs to refine the second method because the first one has such a great chance of bricking."

I've got mine on 1.5 from Japan just now (haven't even opened the beauty yet) but I've got a question... can I get a web browser without going to 2.0?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,719 ✭✭✭kaisersose77

You can use wipeout and change some settings to use it as a browser, havent tried it myself and probably isnt too good. Just google it and u'll find out what to do.

"btw for the 1.51/1.52 downgrader it WILL require 2 psp and one of them has to be 1.5"

so as it says u'll need someone with a 1.50 if u want to downgrade
