UCD - the verdict

This, I fear, will not be recieved well seeing as it's a UCD forum and all.
I went to UCD for first year. I wonder is it just me or do other people experience it as having a complete lack of 'buzz' etc? It's really segregated in my honest opinion.
For example, when in the bar, it's very hard to talk randomly to people etc.
I'm now in UCC and the difference was unbelieveable. People just chat away to each other all the time and there's a terrific buzz on campus.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my year in UCD but the difference in UCC is unreal.

Does anyone else experience the lack of buzz?

    Help! Drop Out Dilemma tbh...
That's a link to a thread posted by one of our regulars about 6 months ago now, during his first year. He pretty much complained about everything you, I and a lot of have done, and it is the definitive "UCD has a dodgy atmosphere" thread.

    You're not.

This probably won't be received well, but... you make your time here what it is, yourself. If you don't succeed, try different people/societies/make the leap and talk to people.

Likewise, things happen for a reason - maybe, OP, your time in UCD made you appreciate UCC more?

Moral of the story - drink whiskey.

I was down there for a weekend thing in November. Apache on campus? Pity it was closed. The food is nice too. My mum just finished a year there too. The new student centre is beautiful! All that glass... pretti!

    And, drink whiskey.
