I have a packard bell laptop running Windows XP Home and using the lastest version of Firefox. It connects to the internet through a wireless linksys router and whenever i try and connect to a secure website i get a message saying that connection was refused at that adress.

I don't have this problem with my PC on the same network.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I'm only a recent convert to wireless, so I may be slightly off here: have you checked the firewall settings on the router?

https uses port 443, http uses port 80. It is possible to configure the router's firewall to block one or other port. It it also possible to allow one machine (your desktop) access to secure sites and prevent the laptop access to the same sites. But I would have to configure my router to do this. Default is much more open.
