Saw on the internet a while ago something someone made as a solution for a temporary tripod It a bottle cap with a bolt/screw the same size as on a tripod going through it So if you dont have your tripod with you, you can use a 2 litre bottle of whatever is lying around and your "tripod mount lid" on top Can anyone tell me…

Can anyone tell me what size the screw on the top of a tripod normally is?

as in M6 or M5 or whatever

It's not a metric thread, but 1/4" 20 tpi.
