How do they make bucks then? referral fee or commission?

    i'm guessing it's just amazon.co.uk with a shopireland bag on it's head.

Yup just means you dont have to work out the currency conversion yourself.

    Slurms,

There is no need to work out the conversion in your head if you become a member of Amazon. You can set an option so that Amazon will show the euro price underneath the sterling price when you are signed in.

...and thus shopireland.ie has no remit to exist at all.

It's rebadged Amazon with a % slapped on top for commision...probably a strategy to turn up on google searches when people choose "Pages from Ireland only". If they at least offered free delivery like our UK cousins get, it might be worth the webspace but as it stands now...?

I seem to remember it just giving you the price in euro's as well as the delivery price to Ireland but when you went to buy you were brought into the main site amazon

    About Shop Ireland
    The Amazon.co.uk Association

We are associated with Amazon.co.uk, and all payment processing, delivery and returns are handled by Amazon.

At the moment, Amazon does not have an Ireland store. Irish shoppers have until now had no choice but to browse the Amazon site in Pounds Sterling, and rely on currency convertors to see the values in Euro. Shop Ireland has been built to allow Irish shoppers to browse products in Euro, add them to their cart in Euro, and see the totals in Euro before buying from Amazon.
Is this site just for Ireland?

All prices on this site are listed in Euro and Pounds Sterling, and so can be used throughout Europe and the UK. For example, if you are shopping in Spain or Greece, and would rather browse Amazon in Euro, this site allows you. France and Germany have their own Amazon stores, but the sites are in French and German. If you would prefer to browse both in Euro and English, Shop Ireland is the best choice.

    :(
