palm tree flower - what to do

Hi, I have a couple of palm trees - ( not sure exactly of type ) - standard clontarf palm i call them ! lol However they have flowered this year - and now the flower is starting to die - not sure if i should prune this - or leave it - as i looks like to be a part of the trunk ? Loz

Hi,
