If you are thinking of going to Massachuttess\Rode Island area and are under 21 be aware that they are very strict on having ID for both getting into pubs and buy drink in suermarkets and off licenses.

I went to Boston, a complete waste of time...An expensive place full of irish people where you can play GAA with crappy bars and clubs that close at 2/3am ...No I'm not talking about Dublin.

There's so many brilliant places. My mate wanted to go to Hawaii but i couldn't afford it. (Guess I'll never live that one down.)

Think NYC, San Diego, Vegas, Hawaii...amazing places. Boston isn't amazing. Its a boring city

If you're thinking of going to San Francisco, don't stay in Berkeley (college down across the bay where most Irish people end up staying because they can't afford to live in the city). It'll be packed full of Irish people, there are no jobs and it's just not a great town. San Francisco is nice, but only if you get accommodation in the city itself.

I agree about San Francisco. The city is where it's at. There are plenty of hostels and cheap dingy hotels around but, unfortunately, apartments are very expensive and scarce. Best to sort accommodation out beforehand if possible.

SF is a good base as well, within striking distance of San Jose, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur, Yosemite, Vegas etc.

Head down to San Diego...plenty of tourist trap work available...Seaworld etc.
Close to the border as well so if you're under 21 head into Mexico where anyhting goes! Trust me :D

SayIT & USIT were advising people NOT to go to San Diego this year. Its got extremely popular with Irish J1'ers and there just isn't enough work.

New York, New York... So good they named it twice.

If it was up to me it would be called New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York, New York.... because it was such a brilliant city

Great nightlife. Good jobs. Great Women.....
