I just got two tips for York from a source who has never gave me a loser.

Orpington for the ebor currently trading at 12/1 in places.
He said that this horse is dermot welds melbourne cup horse for the years ahead and is doing better than vinnie roe was at that stage,he won in galway a year ago and niall madden who won on the horse said it has at least 2 big handicaps in him and the horse will improve for each run leeps and bounds.

Wyatt Earp who is running in york tomorrow tuesday in 4.45 who will be about 10/1.He said that this horse is going to win a race of that type in the near future and the horse is primed to run a big race.He ran in the curragh in a higher class race than this last time out. Before that he ran 4th to currency who won again in the last few days and the form before that has the same credentials with horses holding up the form.

Both have great e.w chances for the week ahead.

Lads, I'm sorry but I don't have time to post the reasons for my selections. I have a ton of work to get through today. If I get the time later on I will come back and edit the post.

    1.20 Ski Jump LOST

    1.55 Cover Up LOST

    2.30 Avalon LOST

    3.05 Ace LOST

    3.35 Araafa 2nd

    4.10 Viva Volta LOST

4.45 HartsHead / Artie Both Nowhere

    Apologies once again. :o

    Hamilton
    1.35 Miss Wedge
    LOST
This is a two horse race between Miss Wedge and Nelsons Column. Nelsons Column had a great debut race where it finished second, however Miss Wedge was impressive in it's last race, which was a class 5 over 7f. Today's is class 6 over 6f. If Miss Wedge runs as well as it did in its' last race, it should be able to see off an improving Nelsons Column.

    2.10 Sarraaf Won @ 9/4

    2.45 Regents Secret
    2nd

    3.50 Victoria Peek
    LOST

    5.00 Kyle of Lochalsh

More to follow if I get a chance to edit this again.

    Orpington for the ebor
    The Ebor is tomorrow (Wednesday).
Wyatt Earp who is running in york tomorrow tuesday in 4.45
    I think it's at 4:45.

As much as I hate backing favourites I think Front Stage can oblidge in the opener at York. The step up in trip should suit, he's well drawn, has won on similar ground and on a similar course in Windsor. When Mick Kinane rides for Michael stoute it's usually worth taking note.

At a bigger price I think Jack of Trumps will run a big race. I really don't fancy the other leading contender Bridge Loan, conditions today are totally different to anything he's faced before.

I've opposed you in this one MasterK....Gone with Bridge Loan...Eddie Ahern has spoken very well of this horse in the past and really looks the type that will steadily improve...

I've gone for 4 horses in all today.

    Bridge Loan
    Distinction
    Belle Et Rebelle
    Ace.

The last named would be the one I'm least sure about because there are a couple of international dark horses in there...

    Looks like were all wrong.

For the rest of the day.

    1:55

Distinction looks nailed on here, but at 8/11 is not much value so I'll going to back Millenary to place at around 9/4 on Betfair. He usally runs his race and has won around York before.

    3:05

I'm probably mad but I'm going to give Doyen another chance in what looks to be a very weak Group 1, back to his best he'd eat this lot for breakfast. Ran well for a long way in the King George. Godolphin have a finally hit some form with 4 winners from their last 8 runners. 12/1 looks too big a price to refuse.

    3:35

Not a race to have a big bet in, the one that most appeals to me is Araafa of Jeremy Noseda's, Noseda is not noted for having horses win first time but this one did and will definitely come on for that. I remember him being interviewed and he couldn't remember the last 2yo debutant winner he had. Araafa beat an odds on favourite in a decent time.

Regal Royale has similar claims but is only 6/4 whereas Araafa is 9/2 and is a better value bet IMO.

That showed us alright. Bit of a mine field of a race though. Bridge Loan got going way too late...a strange ride tbh...but anyway

tiber tilly is racing in york today at 4:10 in york 14/1

would anybody recommend me putting a bet on him. i have heard good things about him but every time i bet on him he is disapointing.

    any advice

Ooh, nice one. I backed Jimmy Fortune at 33/1 to be top jockey at York. One out of one so far. Of course, I didn't think to actually back any of his mounts today.

For what it's worth (which isn't a lot), here are my selections for today:

Doyen in the 3:05 - a typical CrazyCrumbs bet. I'm just hoping the tongue-tie does something for him. He seemed to run a bit better last time in the King George than in his previous three races. Plus Godolphin are in good form.
Edit: I feel less crazy now that I see masterK is with me on this one

Regal Royale in the 3:35 - I understand that he's one of Stoute's better two-year olds although he's a skinny price in this type of race for what he's shown so far.

Fictional in the 4:45 - an e/w chance. In good form prior to his last race which can be ignored, so he's a slightly bigger price than he would've been without that run.

Edit: Sorry for the triple post - stupid dial-up.

What a strange race indeed.

    0 out of 2 so far :p

I reckon we will see alot of big priced winners at York today. This is bringing back memories of how I was burnt (quite badly I might add!) at Newmarket about a month ago. Hamilton should make me proud, and Ace will probably be my only winner at York.

Ah! I could kick myself, I only backed Millenary to place. I hate when that happens.

haha...Make that 3 people who are on Doyen today. I put Ace in my accum but I couldn't leave the race without an each way on Doyen. The best horse in the race, 11-1 is just way too big. My accum is worth very little now so my faith rests with Godolphin,

I'm finally off the mark, Sarraaf wins at 9/4.

    My patent for today...

    2:30 Hard Top

    3:05 Ace

    4:45 Firenze

Doyen's price looks very big - pity there are only 7 runners, so only 2 places for e/w backers.

    Well done scargrill

nah...just tip a €3 patent, so Hard Top got my money back for me.

Firenze is a good thing* in the next - I'll be happy then.

    * if there is such a thing as a good thing in a 20 runner sprint handicap

I'm down for today. This is my last week of work, and it shows as I didn't take the proper time needed to check the cards. Lesson learnt. I'm staying away for the rest of the week. I have a month off before I go back to do my masters, so I have all the time in the world over that month to do this properly. The last time I actually had the time to study the card properly I had 2 winners, a 2nd place and a forecast. I expect to post a couple of winners here for that month ;)

    Score!

2 losers and a 14/1 winner. I always had Graham Gibbons marked as a less-than-average jockey but I've been quite impressed with some of his rides this season.
