My friends has this problem with his Xbox. Whenever a game loads into gameplay he gets this hissing noise which is really high pitched. It does not effect any EA titles but eveything else.

His box is chipped btw, but i dont know which chip it is.

    Anyone heard of this?

No i have not heard of this,

Does this happen when the chip is turned off?
Ususlly there is an option to turn off the chip, like turning on the xbox with the eject button?

Was the problem there before he got it chipped?
    Did he chip it himself?

Are the games that this happen to played from the hard disk or from game dvd while the chip is on?

Does turning the sound down on the TV lower the volume of the hissing? Just to make sure it's not the power supply of the xbox that's hissing. Post some more info, it's an interesting problem.
