Thursday October 24th 1929, the first incarnation of corporate America falls to its knees as the stock
market plummets wiping out millions of dollars in one day in what came to be known as 'Black Thursday'....

Thursday August 18th 2005 and Soma records artist Hystereo are about to unleash they're debut album
'Corporate Crimewave' on Backlash.
An album over two years in the works and already receiving rave reviews in the UK press and support from
DJs as diverse as Funk D'Void to Pete Tong this looks like it will be the one to bring them the attention they
so richly deserve. Its fitting they launch the album down at Backlash, this will be there third visit to the night,
the last one on Easter Sunday raised the roof in SPY like never before and title track 'Corporate Crimewave'
was the biggest tune down at the club for well over a year, solidified by a room full of people going completely
nuts to it as we entered 2005 at our New Years party.
Its also the the tune that brings the most 'whats the f*ck is that track called' requests on the night and when
hungover punters turn up to Carbon records the next day asking for that 'cordial creamwave' track the lads
usually know what they mean.

Their influences are rooted in disco, house, electro and techno, their sound is raw and energetic, vivacious
and corrupt. Glued somewhere between Vitalic’s rampant style and George Clinton’s Funkadelic output, or
as Jack puts it “crunchy housey technofied crazy disco synth-hop overdrive!

Supporting the lads this Thursday is fittingly one of their biggest supporters, Philth who will bookend the
night playing both first & indeed last and we're resisting corporate greed and not charging any more for this
show in that the door price will remain a Gordan Gekko frustratingly low 5eu, super.
