    Hi,

I got a PSU with 2 S-ATA cables, I don't have S-ATA drives or S-ATA mobo, so I don't really need those cables, they take lots of place in the case, I'm thinking of taking PSU apart, and unsoldering those cables or if I can't unsolder them to just cut them off and tape the remaining parts?

any advices or warnings before I do it?

I usually tuck my spare psu cables into a spare 5" bay.

My advice is to cable tie them and stick them away somewhere in case you need them in the future. I was peed off with my sata power supplies, but now I'm glad I have them (buying a sata drive).

Don't do it! You don't want to have to resolder them in a few months time when you upgrade to SATA. Theres no reason to cut them off! So what if they're taking up a bit of space, just fold em over and stick em to the top of your case (beside the cpu) with some tape. You'll kick yourself later if you cut em off, because it'll lower the resale value, and if you do go SATA, you'll need a resolder/new psu.

guys, it's a dell, and it's case is small, I can't tuck them anywhere, I can hardly close the case, and there is no way I'm upgrading it's motherboard to S-ATA.

why even bother if its a dell? not like you can overclock and need better airflow.

well that's exactly the thing, there was hardly any airflow before, but now there is no airflow at all.
