I was at a birthday party. Jammed with a band :D

Na, heard they're decent amps. All tube aren't they?

    What band are you in?

I was with No Quarter for a few years and just joined Below The Belt. fxcked tired, gigging friday, saturday, sunday and monday. They aint tube no, they are digital but imo wipe the floor with line 6 and Boss. i swear by H&K for build quality and being consistent but wondering if anyone knows different

Best bet is to read Harmony Central for reviews. But take them with a pinch of salt.

Below The Belt? Can't say I've heard of them.

Nope, don't know them either. Not into cover bands unless they're tribute bands.

well i have the studio here at home and working on bout 6 different albums so the covers pay for gear. Well anyway i like the diverseness of the amp. Might bring out the JCM if i can work out an external effects rig for it. There is a lovely tokai on ebay at the mo from a british shop. Mite source that. Its http://cgi.ebay.ie/Tokai-Love-Rock-Guitar-Std_W0QQitemZ7343257796QQcategoryZ2384QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.

    Aye, covers definately pay.

Jesus, that is a nice Tokai. Lack of pics are annoying though.

Oooh! That's good! Go for it!

ye that drives my head in. the thing is i 17 and am gonna have nothing left to buy by the time im 20 so should prob hang on. and in fairness i am gettin the tone i want outta my guitars but i love them tokais, knew nothing about them until i came on here. Since i joined i have become very synical of gibson and very impressed by tokai

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Yup, boards will do that to you.

Jesus, 17 and you're happy with your tone? Most people spend their lives looking for "their" tone. I know I'm still looking.

Man, there will ALWAYS be something else to buy. Got any 7 strings, or Piezo equipped guitars? What about guitars set up for different tunings?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,110 ✭✭✭sei046

well the thing is i find my tone changes from one original song to the next but when it comes to the covers i am happy with a pretty standard rock tone. Nice rich leads and chunky rhythm. I defo wouldnt say i am finished with my overall tone. Well i gonna get some PRS, MESA and maybe a TSL next. Started to opt for some more obscure choices gear wise though, such as tokai over Gibson or take the H&K digital route over the line6 digital route. and i also wanna pick up that microcube!!!!

Hiwatt is very impressive. Played through a valve/solid state combo a while back. Very nice sound.

i played a huge HIWATT head, 200 watt solidstate and it was brilian but 2 big for the road i think. I DESPISE the AVT marshall series, most lacking amps tonewise i ever heard, no offence to users and maybe i am wrong but i keep gettin them advised to me. Might pick up a pignose aswell, they are suppose 2 b different
