I want a nice guitar

I'm going to Dublin on Monday and I want a nice guitar.

Do any of you legendary Dubliners know anywhere I could get a NICE deal on a secondhand guitar -- in the price range of about €200 (maybe a little more)?

    Fender Stratocaster is preferrable.

Unfortunately I dont think you'll get much of a nice guitar for €200 in dublin. You'd be looking at a squire for that

You won't get a good deal second hand in any Dublin shop. Your best bet would be to use the trip to try out different guitars, find one you like and then either seek it out in Buy and Sell or get it from Thomann and the likes.

I'll second the Doc's suggestion in its entirety. Second hand market in Dublin is totally whack.

(wait... is "whack" good or bad these days? I mean bad anyway...)

It's 'wack' without the 'h', meaning 'bad'.

Doctor J's suggestion is too time-taking for my liking. I need a guitar very soon.

€200 might not be enough, I'll probably be spending more than that anyway.

Why do you need a guitar soon? Take your time and check out many guitars so you don't waste your money.

Feylya's right, don't rush it. And the Doc is right aswell, it's best to just play a guitar in person and then buy online.

I always thought it was with the 'h', but what do I know? I don't know any of this new-fangled jive talk or jibberish (or gibberish, even). I also was under the impression that 'whack' (with the 'h' this time) was a Mafioso or Italian-American term meaning to murder, or at least kill, derived from modern (though set in the past) gangster movies such as the critically acclaimed Goodfellas (staring Rob De Niro and Ray Liotta) or A Bronx Tale (overrated bollix, A Bollix Tale). I may be wrong because since they are set in the past, that term may now be archaic and obsolete, so I may be living in the past, while at the same time living in the present. Food for thought, it seems.

I suggest we research this and report back. Maybe you, young man, might be able to help us on your pending trip to the capital, on your guitar scout.

To answer your post, your idea that you might get a Fender Stratocaster for 200 guineas is laughable, you fool. Try the Squire or the Encore, and keep your street language on the street, you pup! And play some good music.

    Did that answer your question?

    What have you been smoking?

Be care ful using the whole "Whack" thing. I remember telling my firend about a lad I didn't like at all but the looked at me real funny when I said " I'd like to whack him off"

    :D:D:D see what I mean.

On the guitar thing. 200Euro ain't going to get you much but you seem young and eager so go ahead and buy whatever tickles your fancy in Dublin on your first day of looking far a guitar. This will be your first mistake and then you should learn from that and not repeat it again in the future which is a good thing. Whatever you buy will undoubtedly bring you hours and hours of fun, because that is what guitars do!
