Hi, i will be looking to buy a pc soon.
I have about 650-750 Euro to spend, and the pc will be used only for games. Anyone know where there are PC bargains at my price range?

Thanks in advance for any replies,

You could do worse than look at what Dell have on offer.

I know some of the other board members will have their own ideas but I am now on my 2nd dell PC and have had no probs. I play a few of the games myself and the kids are on their PC steady.

If the games are hi spec and need a state of the art graphics card then you could look elsewhere but for the average game I think i would stick with Dell

Building it yourself will get you most bang for your buck. 750 will get you a reasonable mid-midhigh spec machine.

I think that dell would only be an option if you look at the outlet site, NOT the normal site. there's not a whole lot there at the moment but the stock is up and down. There can be fantastic bargains if you look enough

For 750 u are gonna want to do a self build, or at least get the parts from komplett and get them to build it. Could also ask sum1 here to do it :).

At the price Dell are selling new PC's at the moment, it's hard to do a self build at the same spec for cheaper. When you consider a TFD monitor will cost you a couple of hundred and a new Pentium is another couple of hundred and that's only for starters...
This along with the fact that you don't have the hassle of building it and it's delivered to your door. Plus warranty etc...

ALDI currently have a PC for 750, pros and cons of this pc on separate thread a few weeks back, greatest advantage being 3 yr warranty, prebuilt etc, this price does not include a monitor

The Dell outlet can be good for bargains but it hasn't been great lately. If you choose carefully you can usually build a better machine yourself.

Dell are no worse than any other manufacturer.

I recently bought a Dell Notebook from the outlet store. I'm have to say I'm well happy with the result. Got a brand new notebook for about €800, when I went to the regualar store and put in the same specs as what I had ordered it worked out about €1,600. Half-price is a pretty good deal I reckon. I did have a bit of a problem with the delivery info (they had given the courier company the adress as D18 instead of D8), so I emailed them and received no reply. When I called though they sorted the problem out for me straight away. I can put up with a sub-standard customer service team if it saves me €800! Moral: Call, don't email. My boyfriend is ordering one at the moment. Will let you know how it goes.
