The postal service is bad today, they tell me it's going to be 213 hrs before they can get it to me,something about there not being enough postal workers.
I hope that bloody improves-anyone else finding the post bad today?

My post is working ok. But of course we always have Saturday post in London ;) .

Hmmm, interesting episode. I won't say anything yet as no-one seems to have seen it.

Bloody hell Iguana I put your other half in touch with my postman this morning and he delivered to you before me!! He reckons he'll have it here by 8pm or so.

I enjoyed it more than last weeks. Now, on one hand, isolating a character and putting them in a faux situation in order to get something from them is hardly new. Nor is egg harvesting (I'm assuming her ovary was taken) but I stil like it on the creepiness level and it moved the Caprica storyline to the end.

Good to see Adama hasn't gone too soft and is still hardass about the prez. I don't mind him being a bit emotional as long as it doesn't compromise his tough stances on issues...

Be interesting to see what happens when the new rebel faction meets with Starbuck and the arrow next week.

Not enough Baltar this week, although his scene where he clapped so enthusiastically made me smile :)

Pretty good episode overall and the overburdence of the Caperica plot was good seeing it is over now and we can move onto some more interesting topics.

24 ships jumping to kobol is an interesting turn of events but I do hope the Cylons show up to scupper the Prez's plans a tad :D

Likes the new toaster model so only 7 more to be revealed :)

I really enjoyed this episode. I also liked the way adama looks physically different.

Thought that was the best episode yet this year. I had a feeling that the hospital was a Cylon trick from the beginning as it's unlikely that the humans would still have a hospital without the Cylons finding them.

So what now? Pregnant Boomer goes back to the fleet, will they shove her out the air-lock? Can't wait till next week.

I wonder will the rest of the fleet go back to Cobol too, surely Adama will have to face off with the Pres since she's taken one third of the fleet with her.

I liked the sense of dread that was built in the episode, and the way it nicely explained where the human cylons came from.

One thing occured to me watching adama return. The only result of him being shot was that he wasn't around for all mistakes made by tie(spelling). he has a cop out.

Watching it as I type, its nice to see they've returned to the full UK credits. It just didn't work without the Taiko drummers, I'm sorry to say.

ha fenster, I was watching the intro and started moaning about how they took that out, then.. well, fair enough.

Adama has changed in appearance! Thought so. I am more concerned with his apparent changes in personality. I suppose nearly dying is bound to have some effect.

Nice to see that Apollo's conflict between supporting the rebellion and staying true to his heart i.e. not condemning his father.

The Cylon baby farm looked gruesome, it looked like those tubes were growing into the person.

Who was the girl on the table in the baby farm that Starbuck was talking to? I didn't recognise her.

Ok, so in the last few months an old enemy has reappeared and destroyed your planet and the 11 others that make up your entire society. You go on the run in the only Battlestar left. You discover that anyone of the people left around you may be a Cylon. You are convinced to head back to your old planet to get something left behind. You find an old friend and discover someone you trust is in fact an enemy. You find some more survivors and go to their "home" where you learn that half of them were killed in an attack on their "home" the week before.

Do you then take off all your clothes and sleep in your underwear? Seriously? The cylons know where you are, they could attack at any moment. You are trained by the military, you are at war and in hostile territory -- you don't take you boots off, nevermind your entire outfit. I know that plenty of you probably enjoyed seeing Katee Sackoff in her bra & knicker combo, but that is just bad soldiering!

stranded on er home planet, faced with death, meets a guy she fancies, nothing wrong with going "Ah sod if for a few hours, i wants teh sex"

good episode. only thing i didnt like was how Boomer McCylon was accepted by the resistance so easily. And Starbuck for that matter. Has it no crossed her mind that Boomer is going to double-double cross them cause the cylons want them to find Earth so they can nuke us too???

As an aside completely, i cant help but wonder if they do find earth, what era will it be? if its like the original series it'll be the present which means we'll be frak all help in defeating the clons, but if its a future earth we might alright
hmmmm..../me muses whether this deservs a thread of its own.....

Who wants to take bets that Admiral Janeway will greet them over the com and send Voyager out :P

was thinking along those lines myself. :)
Incidently, the copy my cousin delivered wasnt edited too well and it contained about 4 seconds of a "next on BSG" For those who want to know ....
After Starbuck etc jump back to Cobol, the president wants to blow boomer out the airlock. At least someone isnt as welcoming to Bommer McCylon as they were in this episode

Especially seeing as how it seems that only days have passed since she was 'frakking' Baltar and calling out Lee's name.

well wasnt starbuck in the original series a ladies man? Seeing as he is now a she in this series, starbuck is now the female equivalent. A......

This plot kinda annoyed me a little.... it assumes the cylons only think about 5 seconds ahead..

    Here it is:
Cylons: get together... all agree is a great idea to wipe out the humans, or most of them.
Cylons: whop the sh1t out of humans killing almost everyone and using nukes all over the gaf.
Cylons: realise they can't have babies and now go in search of healthy women to harvest eggs from.
Cylons: realise they have killed almost everyone and the ones that are left are dieing due to the radiation from the nukes they used.
    Cylons: DOH!

Seriously, why didn't they just wipe out the military assets and keep the civilians.... then they'd have more eggs than they'd know what to do with.

Just watched it. I must agree its the best I've seen of season two.

    Highlights for me:
The moment when Starbuck realises shes been shot. Very effective.
Damn! that James Olmos can really act! :D is he getting a bit mystical, too?
I thought Boomer's boyfriend was going to try to pass her off to the resistance as a human. I'm glad they didn't bother with that.
Interesting and apparently open comments from Boomer

Although as some posted the resistence group did accept Boomer very readily. Isn't that because they are all Cylons too? ;) That's why the Cylon doctor harvested Starbucks egg, newly fertilised by the Cylon head bongo-ball player, eh?

    Very good episode.

Was annoyed that Sky brought back the spoiler clips in the opening credits. Why do that when they were left out of all the previous episodes?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,763 ✭✭✭Fenster

    It wasn't Sky

Was annoyed that Sky brought back the spoiler clips in the opening credits. Why do that when they were left out of all the previous episodes?

The mini-preview is Ron Moore's idea, dropped from the first few episodes in season two and then re-introduced from this episode onwards.
Excerpt from his blog Q&A (January 2005):
"What made you decide to show glimpses of the current episode at the end of the opening credits? Oh, and could you please stop doing that? (:"

This is a trick that "Space: 1999" used to do and I proudly stole it from them. And, no, I won't. Nice try, though.

Great episode I thought, though I nearly poked my eyes out covering them when I saw the spoilers had come back.
