New Bus Service Network for Dundrum area

Friday 12th August 2005 - Dublin Bus, today, announced a redesigned bus service network for the Dundrum area. This follows a review of the bus services in the context of the Luas, the new Dundrum Town Centre and incorporating changes to a number of route alignments.

The new service design reflects the changes in customer transport demands and preferences, as identified in the bus review, in the area. Dublin Bus has ensured that these changes benefit a wide area and will provide new bus travel options, new connections to Dundrum Town Centre, greater city penetration and easier connection to other bus routes, and further integration of transport modes by the increased utilisation of the Luas Interchange at Dundrum.

The new network allows bus resources to be redistributed within the local area to address the transport demands of new residential areas – such as Stepaside and developments along the N11 to Bray.

Dublin Bus offers a range of value for money, easy to use prepaid tickets which can be used on buses and Luas – such as the One-day Bus/Luas ticket (€6.00) and 7-day Bus/Luas ticket (€23.00)
