A quick question about Aux cables?

Hey y'all I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff.I got an Aux cable to plug my Minidisc into my hifi.It has a stereo plug -2 phono plugs.They are red and white.The ports on my hi fi match in colour but they don't fit.What cable must I get instead? Cheers

they are a standard size...push em on they don't just slot into place
