Pressure Point Groups in Ireland....

    Hi Guys

The title does not do the thread justice, as pressure points are many things to different groups, Kyushu jutsu is used to varying degrees in many different clubs, and is not limited to Japanese ‘style’ clubs…

But I was just wondering how many different groups are out there that teaches Kyushu (kyusho) jutsu as an integral part of their system.

Please correct me on any of the following details… some of the groups I know exist or have existed..(in no particular order :D )

1.Kim McMenamin, Shukokai, I believe he has a 3rd or 4th Dan from George Dillman, as I believe he practices Sh*toryu Kofukan, via Tomiyama Sensei.

2.Paul PMA Irl, rep for PMA and Rick Clarks ADK organisation in Ireland, Kyushu Jutsu is a fundamental part of their training.

    After a quick search…

3.These guys in via Jack Hogan – (influenced by G Dillman)
    http://www.jackhogankarate.com/?pg=ireland

They are based in Tipperary http://www.ireland.kyushoworld.net/ , Limerick and Offaly.

4.Russell Stutley, www.russellstutely.com Open Circle Fighting Methods (via
Dragon Society International) has a rep in Ireland in Kerry, Malcolm Griffin.

5.John Brawn (again via G Dillman??)
    http://www.johnbrawn.com/pressure_points.htm

There seems to be a significant base for this type of teaching/training in Ireland, does anyone know of any other groups out there?

    Damien
[I am unsure of the affiliations and they are only my opinion so please indicate if errors exist of if something should be removed]

The PMA as an association is no-more :( I am now just training under Rick's ADK. Though I am from ITF TKD background, My Trad training is looking more and more like Karate. Which is what TKD was originally anyway :D

They look like a well run gang, and have a gym to work from (bastards!!) Rick has said that Jack is a really nice guy.

HMMMMMMM!!!!! I don't know where or who John has trained in Kyusho with? It would'int really be a problem even if he just researched them himself and learnt from practical application and testing. But he charges crazy prices and he don't really represent himself very well on the net boards.

By a curious coincidence, I just saw John Brawn demonstrating pressure points on TV tonight (A National Geographic channel program called 'The Truth About Killing').

I think I missed much of what he was doing?

The ideas he was showing seemed alright.

But the PP pressing he was doing is basic first time location training. I would have liked to have seen him demo something a bit more alive for the TV :(

    NWM,

George Dilmann was on a NBC show recently, showing no-touch  knockouts

He suggested that he is soon to appear in a cop movie and will showcase kyushu jutsu...

    PMA,

here is the link to the DSI, never heard of those guys before ;);):D:D

Possibly contact should be made with all the Irish reps of Kyushu Jutsu and we could have a 'Pressure Point' meet!! since there seems to be a lot of interest in the subject (positive and negative)

A meet to exchange ideas and a format to ask questions etc.

John Ward kempo Stylist who teaches in Walkinstown and Tallaght and who is a very approachable type guy gave our Wado group a pressure points seminar a while ago, he seemed quite Knowledgeable on the subject, maybe some of the kempoists could find out more about him or get him to post , of he's not posting already! :) (maybe dub1dub knows him ?)

    This is his web site

This wouldn't be the dojo located on Henry Street in Tipperary Town would it? I've certainly passed it a few times. And the name Sensei John Duggen rings a bell, though I can't say I know the man.

George is a bit like that! Other folks are claiming to do this stuff and so he feels that he has to get his face out there aswell.

    Cheers

edit---> If you want to know about is Doctrine and Professorship just ask him. I know the guy is genuine and didn't fill out the back of Corn Flake box.

Will do, something along the lines of the boards met but for all parties (not just TMA'ers) to experience the different theory's that the different groups ADK, DKI, DSI etc. have on Kyushu Jutsu, you know there are very different views :D

It would be an oppertunity to ask your questions, but this would have to be done in a positive environment.

Not to change you mind on the subjects but to see the practices of people who use PP etc. as a fundemental part of their training.

May be it would cause more isolation or maybe not, but it couldn't hurt!

    Thoughts anyone, any interest?
