Frequently RTE and TG4 from Moville come on the air quite late in the morning, but today RTE 2 is still off air from Moville.

Why is this? Is there some aul fella on a bicycle that comes to switch the transmitter on in the mornings?

Can't really see the point of switching on/off transmitters any more, since channels are virtual 24-hour operations these days. Even then, it wasn't so long ago that TnaG, as it was then, from Three Rock would switch off at 11.34pm every night without fail, even if there was a programme running! Kippure seemed to stay on for longer.

Anyhow to enquire about Moville, call RTE's Reception Investigation Department at 1850 584 584 office hours (price of a local call from anywhere in the country).

Is there maybe some on-going engineering work?
