I want to add Sky(astra1) into my diseqc multi sat setup.

I got the freesat viewing card.

Is there a cam out there that supports this ?

I have heard of an nds cam over on www.digitalspy.co.uk. Have a look around their sat technical forums for more details.

Sure you can, I use one in a Dragon cam (with latest firmware..easily found..try google..) actually in the CI on this PC, the Dragon will work in pretty much any receiver with a CI afaik though.

Very handy, will it work in a matrix cam?

There is nds support in revolution and reborn as far as I know, but as I don't have a matrix cam I cannot confirm whether the Freesat card will work, it does 100% with the Dragon though .

I got an FTV card for my Dragon.. I first put it into my Sky box to see if it worked.. which it did.. then put it in the Dragon.. it worked there no probs with my Dreambox receiver for about a month almost to the day.. then stopped working.. I left it overnight.. but still no luck.. then put it into the official Sky box.. and within an hour was working again..

So.. it seems to me that the keep-alive signals or whatever is going on to keep an FTV card operational, are not getting through to the card when operating in a Dragon CAM.. so you are forced to put it in the actual Sky hardware to reactivate .

    Can anyone else confirm this?

I think your problem lies in the fact that you are using a Dreambox and dragon.

When you have a dreambox you dont need a dragon Cam, as the Sky card should work in the cardreader from the dreambox.

It is possible that there is a conflict between the two i.e Cam en dreambox

Will a valid sub sky card used in one of the cams mentioned above decrypt the channels that only a married sky box will decrypt?

yes as long as add the NDS box serial number in the settings.. it will emulate the actual Sky hardware and the card will decrypt according to the subscriptions.

The UK FTV cards are not restricted this way

Dreambox has been doing this for a long time :)

God bless the developers out there that save some of us from having to use a dodgy box.

FTV card works perfect in Dragon, But as one member found out not all the "Card update signals" get filtered through to the veiwing card from sky. This I find shuts the card down after a month then I have to leave in digibox to update its keys for viewing aain, But saying that my FTV card has been in my dragon since June and it is still working ok.

Dreambox has been doing this for a long time...
Very interesting... so what about the problem people are reporting with the Dragon not updating the Sky card? Is this supported by Dreambox? Presumably even if it is supported, it would rely on the box being tuned to a Sky transponder at the relevant time. If the box spends most of its time receiving Hot Bird or whatever, there's no way the Sky keys would come through. Or have I missed something?
