Can anyone help an old old computer illiterate woman?

Does anyone do Yahoo Messenger in Ireland?

Or is it just something which 'that lot over there' are into?

Am curious - it's such a big thing in the U.K. - but I haven't heard much about it here.

I only know one person who uses Yahoo messenger. I am sure other people here probably use it.

Most of my friends use MSN, here is a link to download it:

I use it, and I'd have quite a few friends who use it too, I prefer it cause of the stealth settings and stuff, you don't have to let everyone know you're online!!

I think you can do that with most clients now.

I don't even know a single person that uses Yahoo here.

They all use MSN because it already comes pre-installed with Windows and a lot of my friends aren't the type that like to try new software (such a firefox  )

We all use it in work (80ish people) since everyone in HQ in the US use it (800ish people). Most of my mates who use IM use MSN. I get around having to use two clients by using Trillian which is a client that allows you to login to both networks.

In general, IM is a great tool - much better than email if you want to have dialog that's more like a conversation, which email is useless for. If you're beginning to use it just remember to pause between sentences to ensure you both stay on the same subject. Otherwise things can get a little confusing.

    good luck with it !
