Im in New York right now and decided to take the plunge.

Cost 320 dollars (i think)for a value pack, wipeout pure and some screen protectors. Dont always trust US prices at first glance, they have an annoying system of adding the 8% sales tax on when you go to pay for something.

You wont be able to play european UMD movies, not a big problem seeing as most people will be buying this for gaming. Anyway, if for some reason you get an urgent need to watch a movie on your psp, buy the sandisk 1GB card and rip some dvds (albeit at slightly poorer than average quality, thank you sony).

At this stage would you not be better off waiting for the Irish release on September 1st? That way, in case anything goes wrong, you have the receipt if you want to get it repaired/replaced. I have a Japanese one and it has served me well. In the end it doesn't really matter where you get it, its that you do get it!

I would go with whatever you think you want! Can you wait until Sept 1st?

It makes no difference really........although if you do like the advantage of having a receipt go and buy it here!

Also if your ordering American products after you have bought it,beware of the import tax!

i sailed through customs here with a psp jap version, 5 dvds, an ipod and an i pod mini.

just got rid of the box for the psp and put it into a special protective case for it.

id say also that it would be worthwhile holding out for our launch because its a few weeks away so put your pre order in now, id say they'll be sold quick.
