What a legend, nearly beaten up by wrestlers, arguments about Jackson and Bashir with Uri Gellar, nearly being lynched by the KKK, and the hilarious body-builder episode.

Haven't heard of anything from him, does anybody know what he's up to?

The weird weekends were genius. Bring em back!

Every now and then UKTV People wheel him out a few times a night. Havent seen it in a good while though.

Yeah he was pretty good in the old days - but then he seemed to go up his own arse. I think people just got sick of him.

But maybe he's been off the screens because he's been recording something new?

Yes remember him allright used to nod encouragingly at people and give his smarmy smile before running of to the voiceover/editing room to think up his "clever" observations about their weight/clothes/appearance etc.

    - Clive Anderson invented being polite to people in person and then trying to make them seem foolish/ugly or whatever in the broadcast programs voiceover a few weeks later.....

The latest thing i can find about what he is/was up to:

    http://www.macmillan.com/LouisTheroux.asp

It seems he spent 6 months living in the states - following up on his weird weekends, but rather than create a TV show about it - he's writing a book on his experiences which is due to be published in Autumn 2005.

He did that whole Louis Theroux met... series.
It was nowhere near as good as the Weird Weekends.
His talent was in meeting the strangest people and letting them show themselves without much interference - of all the angry people he interviewed, nobody really hated him and clammed up.

    His dads no slouch either.

I like Louis but proberly prefer Jon Ronson in the "gauche" crusader stakes.

    Mike.
